What I did
yesterday/today
Sat: Kay arrived at the B&B at around 08:45. I
moved my car and parked it at the Bideford Football Ground (£2.50 for 24 hours,
Steve had explained the parking process, e.g. how to pay). Kay parked her car
and we had breakfast. We had a walk around Bideford and visited Ian Snow’s
shop. After an hour or so in Bideford we drove past the Pier House at the far
end of Westward Ho! We parked up and had a little stroll. Driving back into the
village we parked at the main car park, I bought some Gaviscon chewables at the
Pharmacy and we had lunch at the Rock Pool Café. After lunch we drove back to
the B&B and had a rest before heading off to Barnstaple for pre-cinema meal
at Giovanni’s. I had two bottles of Birra Moretti some bread and butter and
oils and olives. My main was chicken alla Calabrese with sautéed potatoes and
vegetable. The chicken was in a spicy Nduja bean sauce, which was nice. I had affogato
for dessert. Giovanni’s did not have a modern payment system. They used a
traditional pencil and notepad to take the order. They did have a printed
receipt and a contactless machine. We gave a cash tip. We then went to the
cinema (Scott’s Cinema) to see “A Complete Unknown”.

We got back to
the B&B at about 11:15. We had a good night’s sleep.
